Get On The Band Wagon

Just a little reminder, if you would like a chance to win the wristlet, leave a message on this blogpost by midnight tonight. At this point, there are only four of you in the running so the four of you may want me to keep my mouth shut at this point because with only four, your chances of winning are far greater. Good luck to all who do enter!

By the way, I have not forgotten Fabulous Free Pattern Friday, I'll post that a little later today. I'm almost finished, just a little more to do.

I was invited to a poshy store opening. The invitation stated Attire: Elegant. Now how do you interpret that? The party was from 5:30 until 8:00, so basically cocktails and it was on a Thursday night so many would be coming straight from work. I decided to play it safe and wear a black dress. Yes, I have black dresses in my wardrobe, but hey, we always like something new. Last weekend, Joann's had a sell on Vogue patterns. That meant that the extremely popular Vogue 1250 was on sale for $3.99. I had a great piece of black knit in my "collection" so I was all set. For a quick to make dress, I highly recommend the pattern.
An element of surprise is usually a good thing. I have a nice little collection of vintage slips. This is one of my favorites.

Just a small hint of the "surprise that is inside" when you move the right way.

I added a great vintage necklace and I was ready to go.
What you can't see from the line drawing is that the side seam is basically a big dart that runs down to the hip. For me, this was great because I was able to easily take in the dress and get the fit that I wanted.
So if you're looking for a super easy pattern that will make up quickly and look great, get Vogue 1250. From all the posts I've seen on Facebook about this pattern, I think this must be one of Vogue's best selling patterns in quite a while. And now that I joined the band wagon, I see why.
I'll be back later this afternoon with my Friday pattern. I think you'll like it. It's not for everyone one, but I think it's turning out rather nicely.

  1. OMG. I love this idea. I have an event next week and this would be perfect. I'll jump on the band wagon with you.
